Chinese name of Qing dynasty vase with globular body and long trumpet shaped neck, could be translated as "Bestow Vase". Shang Ping vases was first introduced in Yongzheng Period and became a traditional imperial ware until Xuantong Period. Most of the main theme decoration was blue and white scrolling lotus, meant as Qing Lian homonymous with "pure and uncorrupted". Emperor Yongzheng is especially known to have bestowed "Shang Pings" to officials which he for some reason choose to praise for their "pure and uncorrupted" behavior.
