Potiche

Pot, potiche, batavia brown decoration with panels

Small pot - potiche - lidded jar - from the cargo of the lost East Indiaman Gotheborg that went down in 1745. Cargo salvaged at many occasions from the time of the foundering and later. This bowl, salvaged by James Keiller in 1906.

A jar, usually a vase or jar with a round or polygonal body that narrows towards the neck with or without a detached lid or cover.
