GLOSSARY

Polychrome

In decorations meaning "decorated in many colors" as opposed to "decorated in one color" (mono-chrome). A plain white piece is thus both "un-decorated", in Chinese porcelain possibly a "blanc-de-Chine" and a "white monochrome".
