Butsudan (Jap)
Japanese Buddhist home altar cabinet. Traditional Japanese families will normally attend to the Butsudan on a daily basis. A Butsudan is usually made up by the following objects
- Shikimi - flower vase
 - Candle sticks, usually a pair
 - Koro - censer with lid, for burning of inscense mixtures or without lid, for inscense sticks
 - Insence sticks, usually on a dish 
 - Water, in a stem cup sometimes with lid
 - Fruits - a traditional offer
 - Sino - bell as prescribed in the Lotus Sutra
 - Texts and scripture
 - Juzu - meditation necklace
 - Litterature, a small selection of holy books
