GLOSSARY

Charger

Large, often ornate dish, principally used for display but also for serving at the table. The term is generally restricted to porcelain, enamel, silver and gold dishes from 16th and 17th centuries. Common shape in Chinese export porcelain from the mid 18th century and onwards.
