GLOSSARY

Body

Early pottery wares are usually made of clay or a mixture of clay and inclusions (temper) that is suitable for forming vessels or that has been fired into a vessel. The material from which porcelain, earthenware or stoneware (fired or unfired) is made. Porcelain body is not of a natural clay, why this is called paste.
