GOTHENBURG CADIZ
GOTHENBURG | CADIZ | CAPE TOWN | ROARING 40's | BENGALA | BATAVIA | CHINA | CANTON | NORTH AMERICA
In the year 1743 the 11th expedition of the Swedish East India Company departed from Wargo Hole, the ice free winter anchorage for the Swedeish East Indiamen close to Styrsö in the Gothenburg archipelago. In this year two ships were equipped for going to China. The name of the ships were The Goteborg and The Riddarhuset.
The Riddarhusetchoose the fast but dangerous route through the English Chanel to Ostend, to pick up supplies and five tons of silver, while the Götheborg took the safe but stormy route north of Scotland heading for Cadiz to pick up supplies and their silver cargo.
