In the spring of 1743 the Swedish East Indiaman Götheborg went directly to Cadiz to pick up five tons of silver coins and take in fresh supplies.
Cadiz was visited as the first port of call on the long journey to China every year with few exceptions. At other occasions Swedish East Indiamen visited Lorient, Le Havre, Margate and Dover. London, Amsterdam, Paris and Lisboa was other places of vital importance to the participants in the trade for cultural and financial reasons.
