After asking around and having got some unpublishable opinions regarding the auction house's staf it still seems that the best in Singapore would be to approach the two International Auction Houses, Sotheby and Christie's if one expects wide recognition of the authentication.
For information, the addresses are given below:
Sotheby
1 Cuscaden Road #01-01
Tel: (65) 7328239
Fax: (65) 7370295
Christie's
22 Scotts Road
Tel: (65) 2353828
Fax: (65) 2354227
A further option would be to try to approach a curator at the National Museum. It has not been possibly to establish if this could be done on a regular basis, but as it was put - it does not hurt to try.
Good advice could also be had from "old collectors". As I have mentioned elsewhere it is after all the collector who decides what he is prepared to believe and this, for all practical purposes, decides what is "true". Besides, The road of lerning should be traveled in good company. If Confutius did not say that, he could have. :-)
Sincerely,
Jan-Erik Nilsson
