Bianco-sopra-bianco disk
Term primarily used on Italian majolica wares denoting painting in opaque white over a grayish white ground, used at the Faenza potteries in the early 16th century. The term is also used to describe this technique on English tin-glazed pottery and on Chinese white porcelain decorated with a pattern primarily in white enamels. See also: anhua.
